Local Law 97

Local Law 97 (LL 97) establishes greenhouse gas emissions limits for many large buildings in New York City. The law is part of the City's long-term building decarbonization effort and is designed to reduce emissions from the building sector over time.

For covered buildings, compliance generally centers on understanding current energy use, evaluating emissions impact and planning improvements that can reduce carbon intensity. Depending on the property, this may involve operational changes, equipment upgrades, electrification strategies, controls, lighting improvements or other energy conservation measures.

MultiLink can help building owners review their current conditions, identify realistic compliance pathways and prioritize capital improvements that support both energy performance and long-term emissions reduction goals.
